HOTEL INSIDER: A Stay at Melenos Lindos, Rhodes
Set atop the hill within the seaside town of Lindos, Melenos Lindos is an escape that melds luxury boutique hotel, curated art house, and upscale dining in one perfect package. The brainchild of Michail Melenos, the 14 year project has resulted in a setting that captures the whimsy of an artist enclave and richness of the region’s history, while quickly making you feel like a family friend.

DESTINATION: LINDOS 🇬🇷

With its white washed buildings, azure pops, and stunning sea views, Lindos is the dreamy Greek getaway you may not have even known existed. There’s the stunning beach scene, quaint shops, lovely dining, and facades dripping in bright Bougainvillea. Many talk of Lindos as the cool artists’ enclave in Rhodes, with its easy vibe and upmarket feel. History lovers will be enamored with a trip to the Acropolis of Lindos, an incredible compound with views out to eternity.

Melenos Lindos is nestled between the sea and the Acropolis of Lindos, tucked neatly into the cliffside offering panoramic views. And if the sea views aren’t enough to wow you, the common spaces are enough to make anyone swoon, with carefully curated art from Greece, Turkey, and beyond. The hotel offers a range of rooms and suites, but we opted to stay in a series of three honeymoon suites which all shared a patio space (unexpected surprise for us). Each shared the same amenities and feel, but were distinct with unique artwork and well thought-out touches. There’s no doubt about it: the place feels luxurious from the moment you arrive, but it also feels approachable, striking a perfect balance for boutique hotel enthusiasts. Plus, with the personalized service and a great concierge team, we got history lessons on Lindos, on Rhodes, and on the property itself.

There’s something about rooftop dining that captures the imagination. There’s the al fresco component which automatically feels like vacation mode, plus the romantic vibe you experience sitting outside under the night sky. The restaurant at Melenos Lindos is dreamy and a go-to in the area for a romantic dinner a deux. Pricing is a fair bit higher than many other places you’ll find in town but diners’ reviews tout the unique quality of the experience. With only two nights in Lindos, we chose to have dinners off site and instead enjoyed luxurious breakfasts, one inside and one outdoors. Breakfast was included in our package, a rich spread of house made jams, croissants, strong coffee, and fresh-pressed juice along with hot specialties made to order. For an evening cocktail, head up to the mid-level rooftop space (where breakfast is served) to enjoy a sunset sip overlooking the sea.
