Anguilla Destination Wedding: Rehearsal dinner at Picante

Yes, our wedding was six weeks ago, but now that we’ve received our official photos (hallelujah!), I’m excited to share a few snapshots from our week’s events! I thought I’d kick it off by highlighting our rehearsal dinner: an incredibly fun night at Picante, one of our favorite restaurants on the island.

We invited immediate family, bridal party and their significant others, plus our pastor and his wife to our rehearsal dinner. We pre-arranged a limited menu with the restaurant and used mini champagne bottles to mark everyone’s seat. We opted for a mixed assigned table arrangement with parents and friends all intermixed versus clustered by a bride vs. groom layout.

While people had a choice of entree, we pre-ordered a couple of our favorite appetizers to be shared family style, plus margaritas for the tables and churros for dessert. The restaurant owners surprised us with an awesome gift after we finished our entrees. My first thought? I was so glad to have made our rehearsal dinner two nights before the wedding; we were able to have fun without worrying about not feeling 100% the next day.

There couldn’t have been a better place, better people or a more extraordinary time had. Without a doubt, this was one of the highlights of the week for me. Having our families and our best friends together at one of our favorite places (in Anguilla, to boot!) was a pretty memorable experience. Granted, after the tequila shots, memorability is a questionable topic.
