Anguilla: Rest & Relaxation
Tuesday ended up being more of a day of recuperation than anything. After a few long days, we decided to post up on the beach under some palapas and enjoy the sunshine. Having foregone breakfast, we decided to head out and check out a new lunch spot on the island. After sadly discovering that Dune Preserve (a really cool, funky beach bar that we ended up hitting up on Sunday) was closed, we ended up heading to Roy’s Bayside Grill for lunch and drinks. While the fish sandwich is my go-to (when in Rome, right?), Roy’s is famous for their fish and chips. That being the case, Scott and I ended up splitting the sandwich and fish and chips, lest we miss out on anything.
After pushing through a mild food coma (perhaps it was a diabetic coma after the sugary drinks), we headed back to enjoy the rest of the afternoon on the beach and had a fun impromptu sunset photo shoot.
Despite our fill of food for lunch, we made reservations at Tasty’s for dinner. Since Anguilla is known for their cuisine, we took the opportunity to explore as many parts of the island and as many restaurants as possible during our stay. After going through the menu and having had enjoyed a number of amazing meals thus far, I had fairly high expectations for Tasty’s and I left with mixed emotions. The food was good but the service was notably slow, even for island time.
As per usual, afterwards we headed back to Elvis’ to continue the dance party into the evening! Definitely a fun day involving little more than laying on the beach and eating… I guess that’s the point of a beach vacation from time to time, right?
Love from Anguilla,
